Steps to WSOP Update

A few days ago I just got back from Michigan. That would be the reason why you had not seen much advancement through my blog. Now that I am back in South Florida here is the update to my step portfolio. I actually ran really bad in the Step 4/5 area for a while until today I managed to pick up another step 6 ticket. I did pick up my final step 6 ticket in MI. So that being said I am now trying to build up on step 6 to try and fill up the step 7's. Essentially my goal is to try to have +4 / +5 Step 6's before I start to play them. Being that I did not get much done in this realm last week this week I will be playing a lot of steps in the oncoming days. There is 56days remaining to win a WSOP package. With 7 tickets remaining to fill my pyramid, I would need 1 Ticket every 8 days to have a full pyramid on the last day. So essentially if I can pick up an advancement ticket every 5 days that would allow me 21 days to win the step 10.

Are you heading to Vegas for the WSOP this year?

Before I get started in this post I would like to talk about a site called Invade Vegas. I have been uploading a ton of videos some of the funniest ones on the net. Not to mention a ton of poker related videos. On top of a nice database of videos, they also have links where you can book flights, obtain deals on hotels, and other special promotions for staying in vegas. I highly recommend stopping by and checking out all the promotions.

I am really working hard on trying to get myself to vegas this year during the WSOP. The next few months for me are going to be extremely tedious as I attempt to win a 12k package through the step program at ultimate bet, see if I could potentially deal at the WSOP, and take a flight to Michigan to sharpen up my dealing skills. Later today Joni and I will be driving back to see our parents for the easter weekend, but I would like to take some time to map out what I am going to try to do for the next few months.

The step program is going well as I continue to add more steps to my reserve, and build up higher level steps in the process. My goal is to try to have my pyramid filled up on level 8 with additional tickets on the lower levels. I feel that if I can do this I will have an excellent shot at Obtaining a Step 10 sometime in May. I sent a support email to UB, and they said they will be running satellites to the WSOP until June 20th. So that should give me some cushion for room for error. Let's just hope the cards fall in my favor.

I am applying to try and deal the WSOP but I wont know much more information until it comes closer to crunch time. If I could win a 12k Package, and Deal the WSOP I would more than likely be moving to Vegas soon after the WSOP hopefully obtaining a job dealing. If I could find some source of steady income I feel it would really allow me to move up in my playable limits. With my financial situation at the time I am restricted due to the fact that every time I make a few hundred I am tempted to withdraw it. Without a job you do not know when your next check is coming so taking the money when you get it is pretty important. With the 12k package and 7k-8k for dealing I should be able to have some flexible income, and the credibility to get a job in the future.

After speaking with volcano it looks like I am gonna take a flight up to Michigan during the late end of April. He spoke with a local card room, and got me the ins to pick up a dealing job for the time that I am up there. This will allow me to pay for the trip, and maybe have a little money left over. Not to mention he is gonna help train me in preparation that I would be able to get this dealing job. If everything works out for the best hopefully I will be driving with him and some others to Vegas in late May.

The only bad part about this whole situation is that I am not gonna be able to see my girlfriend for an extended period in time. We started our relationship when she was finishing up her schooling in Gainesville, and I was living it Ft. Myers which is a 4 hour drive. Having done this before I know that our relationship is strong enough that it will not be negatively impacted. Just not being able to love, feed, and see her will take an emotional toll on the both of us. Being that this is what I am going to need to do to get my life on more positive financial track she will back me the entire way. If I do get the job dealing, or win the WSOP package I am sure I will be flying her out to Vegas for at least a week to visit. If I do not then I will be coming back to Florida after I stay up in Michigan. If things go as planned and I do accomplish all these goals, I will more than likely be moving out to Vegas with her. Last year we contacted people in Nevada for her and she did receive some job offers so with a full year of experience, and New Teacher of the Year award I doubt she will have any issue finding a job.

So once again thanks for stopping by my blog and reading. I would love to see some comments if your heading to vegas or not this year. Remember dont forget to stop by InvadeVegas, and check out all the good stuff.
