2nd place $1 R/A Buck Tournament

Going into HU I was down 3-1 in chips, and managed out play my opponent to having a 2-1 chip lead. My opponent after giving up his chip lead got extremely frustrated, and he made some horrible plays. Unfortunately it did not pay off for me as he continued to get extremely lucky calling 5x-6x BB bets preflop with almost any two cards. After three horribly played hands, two of which ended up being 4 outer suck outs, I found myself in 2nd place. Though I deserved the win here it was still a nice payout for only investing $4. I do really like the Buck, and Nickel Tournaments on Saturday there is always some extra overlay, and the play is weak for the most part.Tournament times are as follows.

The Buck a $1 Tournament with a 1k prizepool is at 1:35pm on Saturdays,
The Buck R/A is at 2:35pm on Saturdays.
The Nickel a $5 Tournament with a 5k prizepool. 2:35 on Saturdays
Nickel Rebuy (only at 0 Chips) is another 5k prizepool. 1:35 on Saturdays.

This is a satellite into the buck tournament for .20 cents. Take a look at how many were registered and you'll see what I mean. The Nickel 40 seat guarantee was not as good as far as Overlay but with only 60 people in the Nickel 40 Guarantee it was also an excellent overlay tournament.

Americas Cup of Poker

Represent your country and win a share of $150,000!

The PokerStars Americas Cup of Poker is the event that sees qualifiers and Team PokerStars Pro compete for their country at a spectacular live final held at Iguazu Falls, with a $150,000 prize pool on the line. The action starts online, where you can win a place on your country’s team and qualify for the live final.  Get ready for over four weeks of online qualification that will determine which eight countries will participate at the live final.
The live final will take place at the stunning Iguazu Falls this May. It’s the trip of a lifetime that gives you the chance to explore one of South America’s most beautiful regions - and play poker for cash and the glory of your country while you are there. See below to find out how you can represent your nation.
Poker is all about winning big money, but it’s also about pride. And there’s no greater sense of pride than the feeling you get when you represent your homeland. Your country needs you, so you better make it count.

Here’s how it works

From March 15-April 14, players in the nine countries listed below have the chance to help their nation make it to the live final: USA, Mexico, Canada, Colombia, Chile, Venezuela, Peru, Brazil and Argentina.  Don’t worry if your country is not listed, all remaining Latin America countries are invited to play as ‘Rest of LATAM’, taking the total number of teams to 10.

All 10 countries will play against each other in three tiers of matches at freeroll, $0.10 and $1.10 buy-in levels. Points will be awarded to the top 100 finishers in each tournament. The country with the most points accumulated in each match will win that fixture. You’ll be playing to score as many points as you can (see below for how points are awarded), and it’s important to remember although you’re playing for your country, you are also playing for yourself. The four players who accumulate the most points will represent their country at the live final should their team make it. See below for schedule information. To register, open the PokerStars lobby, click ‘Tourney’ and ‘Regional’.

When all the matches are complete, the six countries with the most wins will automatically qualify for the live final. The remaining four teams will then play off for the final two positions.  Check out the Country Rankings  page for the latest national rankings.

You can win tickets to the $0.10 tournaments by playing in free-to-enter Sit & Go’s that run around the clock during the Americas Cup of Poker. You can find these in the lobby by selecting ‘Tourney’ and ‘Regional’.

Forget about going to Aruba Poker Open.

UB.com Removes Aruba Poker Classic for 2010 with Plans to Increase Presence at Land Based Events and Enhance Online Tournament Series Offering

Leading online poker site to bring players larger, more rewarding online tournaments and rewards in 2010 and beyond
Miami, FL (PRWeb) March 8, 2010 – After wrapping up its most successful tournament series yet and propelled by an invigorated brand that’s attracting more players to its community, UB.com is laying the groundwork to give online poker fans more reasons to choose UB.com over any other site in 2010. Paul Leggett, Chief Operations Officer of Tokwiro, owner and operator of UB.com, has confirmed that the site is putting the Aruba Poker Classic on hold for 2010 and it will have a larger presence at the existing major events instead. UB will also run additional online poker tournaments, including a new tournament series.
UB.com’s plans for 2010 include: developing a monthly $500k Guaranteed Tournament with an eye on building it into a million-dollar event; creating more pro-related competitions; and running UBOC two times a year.
UBOC is UB.com’s signature online poker tournament series that entered its fourth year in January. This year’s UBOC was UB.com’s most successful online poker championship series in its over 10-year history. The 12-day poker series featured two $1 million Guaranteed Events, a number of promotions that awarded players of all stake levels with extra prizes, and over $4 million in promised prize pool money.
UB.com was able to over-deliver on that promise. The first $1 million guaranteed event attracted a record number of players, inflating the prize pool to over $1.5 million and the second $1 million guaranteed event was equally successful.
“It is with great regret that we are announcing that the Aruba event will not run this year but 2010 is going to be an exciting year for UB and its players,” said Leggett. “Over the last year, we’ve been redefining the UB brand in every way. We love the Aruba Poker Classic event but we think we can do a lot more for our players by investing in new events and rewards.”
Respected poker professional Joe Sebok agrees, stating, “"I, for one, am excited about what this shift in focus means for UB and what this will add to the experience for our players."
Leggett notes that UB.com will continue to offer players access to the world’s top poker tournaments like the WSOP and major WPT events through ongoing online poker satellites. Players will also see benefits in the form of major WSOP incentives and additional loyalty benefits for top players.
Further details on UB.com’s plans for the coming months will be posted to the site’s poker blog, linked to on the UB.com website.

Two new guarantees at UB.

The Buck a $1 Tournament with a 1k prizepool. 1:35, and 2:35 on Saturdays.
The Nickel a $5 Tournament with a 5k prizepool. 2:35 on Saturdays
Nickel 1 Rebuy (only at 0 Chips) is another 5k prizepool. 1:35 on Saturdays.

Excellent Bankroll Management Video

Hello all. I have recently been working with a lot players who frankly disregard the concept of bankroll management. I can honestly say that I have made many decisions against conventional bankroll management, and I from time to time need a reminder to stay on track. I looked at a few videos on you tube, and found this one to be most entertaining, and informational.

Killer Poker By The Numbers by Tony Guerrera

Are two great poker books on the cutting edge of mathematical analysis. I am a big fan of Tony G. He has a show on Rounders Radio on Fridays at 8pm EST. I personally cannot wait I can get my hands on these. All good poker players should know the math of the game. Tony by far does a great job explaining it to you.

I am on my hunt again in the UB Step Program

Step Progress
WSOP prize packages are now available through the UB step program. So I am on a hunt this month to win my step 10 ticket, and head to Las Vegas. I ended up picking up some extra step 4's yesterday to push up into the higher steps that I am missing. Today my goal is to win 3 Step 5 tickets, and 3 Step 3 tickets. This will finish out my pyramid from steps 2 to 5. If I end up doing well today, I may also try to pick up a step 6. Here is my steps tickets currently.

Took 2nd place to my friend the Volcano in the Poker Cartel Bounty....Managed a few Ko's and a decent cash.

I ended up running up about 320k in chips in the 5k $1 R/A at UB. I end up trying to isolate A5d who shoved all in with AK. Being that AA was in the hands of someone who had already over 1 Million in chips in the Big Blind...You Know who wins this pot..............................................................................................................Your wrong A5 gets turn river diamonds to beat AA, but I still get KOed. Only spent $4, so $18 was not too bad 4.5xROI - Tax.

Took down 4th place over at Slydawg, Its was not all too special.

My lucky tonight on the cash tables did not really see any profits. I was up a nice $25 pretty early in the day. But as the night went on I lose 5 of 8 hands where my opponent is drawing to 5 or less outs. Either all in preflop, or on the river. Not much you can do. I end up within $2 of being even on the day over at JRP.

Monday March 1st 2010

It's a really cheap tournament that I always love to win into. Big prize pool. If you are not in it, you should be. I will be trying to satellite into a few of the Mini Ftops, Let me know if you are getting into any. They are Nice big Prize pools, and cheap buy ins.

I also really kicked some tail tonight at Jolly Roger Poker . Not only did a take a few Euros out of this game, but really hammered the cash tables. Doubled my account, and managed to make a transfer. If you are looking for that new site to add to your list this is the place to go. Most of the players are foreign, and I seem to be doing pretty well. Remember my bonus code is FL2000. If you have any issues just let me know I can help you get everything squared away.

Jolly Roger Poker

I am extremely pleased with JollyRogerPoker. A friend of mine DrushBag has been telling me about this site for weeks now, and man was I missing out. With a majority of players playing extremely loose this is a great site. I seemingly love the background colors and table layouts. It's part of the Everleaf network, and is US friendly.

After speaking with the owner, I find myself downloading JollyRogerPoker and checking out the games. With low field guarantees, Heads Up SNGs, A step program to the WSOP, A variety of cash game limits, Freerolls, Satellites into larger tournaments, Double or Nothings, and a plethora of other games I was extremely happy to start playing here. I realized that a bunch of these games have some overlay, which it is always nice to get a little extra bang for your buck.

I do have a promotional code FL2000, If you are interested in trying out a great new site. If you have any questions please let me know at Snake.Logic@yahoo.com. I have been told that they bank wire your withdrawal money within 4 days.

I played the $150 Guaranteed( $2 R/A ), and was pleased with my result.

Check out this hand at the cash tables. Everyone was all in PRE-FLOP.
